Design projects that bring the Engineering pathways together. Pick one: each follows the design cycle (Inquire, Develop, Create, Test, Evaluate), starts from a brief with criteria and constraints, prototypes the logic on a board where it can, builds in a simulator and then for real, and is evaluated against the brief with test evidence.
Pick one: a plant monitor, a parking assistant or a reaction game. Needs Circuits and Arduino.
Design a monitor that warns when a pot plant needs water: a soil moisture sensor, an alarm, and a display of the reading, tested at its threshold.
Design a distance warning: an ultrasonic sensor and a buzzer or LED that warns sooner and harder as something gets closer, tested at each band edge.
Design a reaction timer: an LED lights after a random wait, the player presses a button, and the game shows their time in milliseconds, fairly.
Pick one: a drive base, a sorter or a lift. Needs Power and motors; links Mechanisms and CAD.
Design a small robot base that follows a line or avoids obstacles: two motors through a driver, a battery chosen against the brief, gearing and a chassis, tested on a course.
Design a machine that sorts objects into two bins by what a sensor sees: a light sensor (or a trained model) decides, a servo flap acts, and accuracy is measured on a test set.
Design a motor-driven lift that raises a load to a height within a time: choose a gear ratio against the brief, drive the motor through a driver, and compare the measured result with the prediction.
Move a finished project onto protoboard, or design its PCB.
Move a finished breadboard project onto soldered protoboard so it survives being carried around: plan the layout, solder safely, and test it against the same table as before.
Design a printed circuit board for a project: draw the schematic, lay out the board, run the design rule check, and prepare the files a manufacturer needs.
